Garth Marenghi's Darkplace je britanska komedija koja predstavlja priču u priči. Sam Marenghi je ismijavanje Stephena Kinga dok serija ismijava '80-e, od mode do filmova. Dok gledate seriju imate osjećaj da je serija zaista snimana negdje 80-ih, loši dijalozi, lipsync koji preskače, loša gluma, loš soundtrack. Sve je tu. Priča je smještena u bolnicu u mjestu Darkplace, koja je smještena iznad kapija Pakla. Marenghi glumi dr. Ricka Daglessa, njegov izdavač Dean Learner glumi Thorntona Reeda, direktora bolnice, Todd Rivers je glumac koji glumi dr. Luciena Sancheza, a Madeliene Wool je glumica koja glumi dr. Liz Asher. Naravno, svi ovi likovi su izmišljeni, a glavna premisa serije je ta da je to serija snimljena nekad 1980., ali da je određene sile nisu htjele pustiti (osim u Peruu gdje se prikazivala po riječima Marenghija) u to vrijeme. Sada, tj. 2004., u vrijeme velike "suše" na TV-u, serija se počinje prikazivati, izvađena iz autorovog podruma.
