Ve světě, kde je Santa skutečný a chce navodit sváteční atmosféru, vymyslí dva Santovi skřítci Chuck a Debbie plán, jak splnit jednomu člověku na Zemi tři přání a nastartovat tak svátky. Naneštěstí je tím člověkem Erin, která ztratila veškerou náklonnost k tomuto období. Ani rande naslepo, které jí domluví sestra se sympatickým a okouzlujícím Samem, nezmění její názor na Vánoce. Když však udělá tu chybu, že si přeje, aby Vánoce "prostě zmizely", Erin se probudí do světa, kde tyto svátky nikdy neexistovaly! Zděšeně si uvědomí, že všechny připravila o radost, a tak požádá Sama, aby jí pomohl svátky od základu znovu vymyslet. Erin přitom zjistí, jak moc tento svátek a jeho tradice znamenaly pro všechny kolem ní - a jak moc pro ni znamená Sam.
