Druhá část slavného sci-fi filmu Planeta opic. Paul Dehn a Mort Abrahams, scenáristé filmu natočeného Tedem Postem v roce 1969, převzali z Boulleho knihy pouze postavy a vytvořili zcela nový příběh, kde se vlády ve společenství opic zmocní agresivní gorily a podniknou výpravu do zakázaného pásma, kde žijí zbytky původních lidí, ovládajících telepatii a uctívajících jako božstvo gigantickou jadernou hlavici.
