Mladý čínský bojovník Chen Zhen se předčasně vrací ze studií v Japonsku, aby vyšetřil a pomstil smrt svého mistra kung-fu, který byl zavražděn Japonci za nevyjasněných okolností. Situaci navíc komplikuje Chenův vztah k japonské dívce Mitsuko. Hongkongský film Gordona Chana vznikl v r.1994 jako remake snímku Fist of Fury z r. 1972. Legendárního Bruce Lee v titulní roli nahradil jeho neméně zdatný nástupce Jet Li.
