Americký filmový horor, ve kterém se hrozbou nevinných lidí stává velké hejno nechvalně proslulých dravých rybek, kterým se podaří utéci z experimentálního vědeckého ústavu, financovaného americkou armádou. Jejich cesta vede přímo do blízkého jezera, které je vyhledávanou turistickou atrakcí a jehož břehy jsou v letních měsících obleženy lidmi, kteří se sem sjíždějí z celého širokého okolí, aby se tu opalovali nebo si zaplavali. V okamžiku, kdy se k jezeru blíží smrtelné nebezpečí v podobě hladových rybiček, přijíždí k jezeru také autobus plný malých školáků.
