Třetí díl série filmů s alter egem Francois Truffauta, Antoine Doinelem. Příběh pokračuje poté, co Antoine odejde z vojenské služby. Otec jeho přítelkyně Christine mu zprostředkuje práci bezpečnostního strážce, kterou však rychle ztratí.
