Jeho obětmi se stávají dcera stranického funkcionáře, náhodný opilec, vietnamský dělník, filozofující snílek... Galerii postav své doby doplňují velitel vojenské posádky, docent katedry ateismu a mladík, který předjímá čas přestavby obchodováním s kožešinami na černém trhu...
