Poslední film se Zatoichim, který Shintaro Katsu natočil a zároveň jeden z jeho posledních filmů vůbec. Po roce 1990 už nenatáčel. Ukazuje se zde, že i jako režisér dokázal přijmout nové postupy a hlavně natočil snímek, který nezůstal v minulosti, ale je modernější, je akčnější než jeho předchůdci a technicky lepší. Tohle není nostalgie, ale naprosto plnohodnotné pokračování.
