Piráti Slaměného klobouku přistáli na ostrově Asuka, domově nejcennějšího meče na světě: Sedmihvězdného meče. O kterém se říkalo, že proklíná každého, kdo si ho vezme. Když se vrátili na Going Merry, zjistili, že Zoro chybí ze své strážní služby. Než mohli naplánovat pátrací skupinu na jeho nalezení. Luffy a jeho přátelé unikají z přístavu, protože mariňáci jsou jim v patách. Našli nové místo k zakotvení, které je blízko vesnice. Jehož úkolem je udržet Sedmihvězdný meč zapečetěný. Brzy byla napadena mariňáky a mezi nimi i Zoro. Luffy a ostatní nevědí, proč pomáhá mariňákům. Ale vše vyvrcholí, když Luffy potká Sagu: Zorovu kamarádku z dětství z výcviku šermířů.
