Šest měsíců po smrti Supermana v Metropolis opět vzrůstá zločinnost. Lex Luthor představuje na tiskové konferenci nového Supermana, či spíše Superboye, klon, jak později zjistí Lois, vytvořený doktorem Donovanem z DNA Luthora a Clarka. Tiskovku ale přeruší vpád dalších tří Supermanů, jsou to Eradicator, Steel a Cyborg, kteří bojují mezi sebou. Cyborg pak navštíví Lois a přesvědčuje ji, že je skutečný Superman, jen má teď nějaké náhradní díly. Clarkovo tělo sice zmizelo, ale Lois mu nevěří. Rozhodne se zjistit, kdo jsou tito neznámí, proč tam jsou a jaké je jejich místo ve světě bez Kal-Ela.Metropolis napadnou démoni a zlikvidují Ligu spravedlnosti. Cyborg zachrání prezidentku a je prohlášen pravým Supermanem…
