Octave Parango (Jean Dujardin) je velice úspešný reklamní agent. Dělá u velké firmy, která mu poskytuje veškerý potřebný luxus. Má vše, co by si normální člověk mohl přát a ba nic navíc, například kokain. Nicméně jeho duše není naplněna, protože stále nemůže dosáhnout pocitu štestí. Možná by se sebou chtěl něco změnit, ale stále se nedokáže donutit. Potřebný impuls ke změně dostává jak jinak od ženy jménem Sophie (Vahina Giocante) a také od svého nového zákazníka jménem Madone. Je tedy na čase začít žít jiný život. Jenže jak se oprostit od světa, plného klamavých reklam a spousty špíny, kterou si člověk sám vyrobí? No, snadné to nebude...
