Bratři Elliot a Beverly Mantleovi jsou nejen jednovaječná dvojčata, ale navíc se oba živí jako gynekologové a jejich životy spojují stejné ženy. Sukničkář Elliot totiž vždy každou po čase přenechá svému nesmělému bratrovi Beverlymu. Ten se jednou do takto získané ženy skutečně zamiluje a pro všechny postavy destruktivní série emocionálně vypjatých situací nastane ve chvíli, když zrovna ta podvod obou bratrů odhalí. Příliš dokonalá podoba však nevypráví pouze o zničujících vztazích hrdinů.
