Šarlotina pavučinka patří mezi nejoblíbenější dětské knížky vůbec. Vyšla už ve 23 jazycích, včetně češtiny, a v úctyhodném počtu 45 miliónů výtisků. I proto podle této nesmrtelné předlohy, kterou napsal autor Myšáka Stuarta Littlea E. B. White, vznikl stejnojmenný film, jehož ambice nejsou o nic menší. Hlavním hrdinou Šarlotiny pavučinky je malé prasátko Wilbur, které zjistí, že přísloví "V nouzi poznáš přítele" opravdu platí. Jako první mu pomůže malá Fern (Dakota Fanning - Válka světů, Muž v ohni), která mu krátce poté, co přijde na svět, zachrání život. Lidé mají sice prasátka rádi, jenže v drtivé většině v podobě vypečené kýty. A ty Wilburovy by se měly stát kulinářskou ozdobou vánočního stolu Ferniných rodičů. Naštěstí má Wilbur v rodné stáji partu skvělých a věrných přátel (cynický potkan Templeton, autoritativní beran Samuel, kůň Ike, který má fóbii z pavouků, mateřská husa Gussy a hlavně chytrá pavoučice Šarlota), kteří ho v průšvihu nenechají...
