Jonathan Switcher er en ung kunstner og har lige skabt den perfekte kvinde, et mesterværk af en mannequin, da han bliver fyret. Til sin store glæde genfinder han sin dukke i vinduet hos et stormagasin, hvor han straks søger arbejde. Han får det og til sin uendelige fryd opdager han, at dukken kommer til live, bliver til kød og blod men kun når ingen andre kigger. En ting Jonathan (Andrew McCarty fra Weekend med Bernie) også finder ud af er, at når hun bliver levende sker der ting og sager.
