Lægen Alex Beck er så småt ved at komme sig efter hans kone blev myrdet af en seriemorder otte år tidligere. Men en dag bliver han pludselig beskyldt for at have myrdet to personer, og samtidig modtager han en mail -tilsyneladende fra sin afdøde kone. I mailen advarer hun ham mod et komplot. Og det er bare begyndelsen for den allerede hårdt prøvede læge.
