Arkitekten Walter Craig bliver inviteret ned til et landhus af en klient, han ikke tidligere har mødt. Da han ankommer til huset, har han en stærk fornemmelse af, at han har været der tidligere.
Inde i huset bliver han præsenteret for en gruppe mennesker af hans vært - mennesker der også synes bekendte, men ingen af dem kender ham. Pludselig går det op for ham at han har oplevet hele situationen i en tilbagevendende drøm. En drøm der altid starter roligt, men som ender med at blive et mareridt...
