Mens en gruppe unge og håbefulde skuespillere øver på en ny musical baseret på historien om en berygtet massemorder, flygter en psykotisk galning fra et nærliggende sindssygehospital. For at presse mest muligt ud af sin trup låser stykkets instruktør skuespillerne inde på teatret natten over, men desværre låses den morderiske galning inde sammen med dem, og de intetanende artister må snart sande, at galningen har skrevet sit eget bloddryppende manuskript.
