Filminstruktøren Michael Moore går igen i kødet på magthaverne i USA. Denne gang i en film om det amerikanske sundhedssystem, der ikke ser for godt ud i forhold til lande som England, Frankrig og Cuba. Flere end 900 lobbyister får deres navn i både tabloidaviser og den meget velrenommerede ’The Washington Post i forbindelsen med premieren. Og det er ikke for det gode deres navn bliver nævnt. Instruktøren Michael Moore inviterer de registrerede lobbyister til gratis at se hans seneste film ’SiCKO’, der er et angreb på netop deres arbejde. Moore risikerer, at SiCKO bliver forbudt i USA - fordi en lille del af den, er optaget på Cuba, hvilket af nogen opfattes som en overtrædelse af den amerikanske embargo mod øen.
