Der var engang i Mexico i slutningen af forrige århundrede, hvor vesten stadig var vild, og revolutionen gjorde livet farligt for alt og alle. Her møder banditten Juan ved et tilfælde IRA-sprængstof-eksperten Sean Mallory, der er på flugt fra englænderne. Det tager ikke mange øjeblikke, før det går op for Juan, at Sean kan sprænge hvad som helst til atomer. Så han overtaler Sean til at hjælpe ham med at røve den ellers topsikrede bank i Mesa Verde. Uheldigvis vil Sean hellere hjælpe med revolutionen og stikker af, men Juan er lige i hælene på ham. Og den mexicanske hær er på jagt efter dem alle sammen...
