I en tyrkisk by bor fem forældreløse søstre sammen med to ældre slægtninge. På vej hjem fra skole pjatter pigerne med nogle drenge. Uskyldig sjov, men andre synes, det er upassende. Rygtet spredes i den lille by. Søstrenes frihed bliver indskrænket, og deres hjem forvandles til et fængsel.
