Det romantiske drama 'Elsk mig!' udspiller sig i 1950'ernes sydlige Frankrig, hvor Gabrielle (Marion Cotillard) er vokset op i en traditionel familie, og nu lever i et arrangeret ægteskab med den venlige, men kedelige bonde José (Alex Brendemühl). Gabrielle er en lidenskabelig kvinde, og da hun bliver sendt til Alperne for modtage behandling for nyresten, møder hun den charmerende krigsveteran André (Louis Garrel) og bliver hovedkulds forelsket - nu må hun vælge mellem passionen eller trygheden.
