Musikdokumentaren 'The Beatles: Eight Days A Week - The Touring Years' er baseret på de første år af Beatles' karriere. Filmen stiller skarpt på 1962-1966, dvs. den periode, hvor de turnerede og solidt placerede sig som et af verdens mest populære bands. Instruktøren Ron Howard dykker ned i, hvordan John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison og Ringo Starr greb arbejdet an - hvordan de tog deres beslutninger, skabte musikken og ikke mindst sammen igangsatte en fælles karriere. Dokumentaren viser desuden forskellige private optagelser (8mm) fra rundt omkring i verden. 'The Beatles: Eight Days A Week - The Touring Years' blander liveoptagelser fra begyndelsen på The Cavern Club i Liverpool til den sidste koncert i Candlestick, San Francisco i 1966 med interviews med de to nulevende medlemmer, Paul McCartney og Ringo Starr.
