For 20 år siden krævede en tragisk mineulykke fem minearbejderens liv på St. Valentines dag. Katastrofen indtraf, mens de tilsynsførende havde forladt deres post for at deltage i byens årlige bal på St. Valentines dag. Den eneste overlevende, Harry Warden, blev indlagt på et sindssygehospital efter ulykken. På 1-års dagen for katastrofen vendte han tilbage til byen for at tage en blodig hævn. Det er nu 19 år siden, og minderne er blevet udvisket. Det unge kærestepar T.J. og Sarah og vennen Axel er blandt de bysbørn der deltager i endnu et Valentines party. Så ankommer en kasse med Valentine-slik med en ildevarslende meddelelse og et bloddryppende hjerte. Før natten er forbi, vil terroren slå til igen og igen.
