Kristen (Amber Heard) er en smuk unge kvinde med et plaget sind. Hun bliver institutionaliseret på et sindssygehospital. Der begynder hurtigt at ske mystiske ting da det tilsyneladende ikke kun er de levende patienter der opholder sig på hospitalet.
