Filmen 'The Iron Claw' er et rørende drama om de uadskillelige Von Erich-brødre, der revolutionerede amerikansk wrestling i 1980erne. Brødrene Kevin, Mike og David er alle succesfulde wrestlere grundet deres far Jakes intense træning af sine børn. En disciplin der har givet familien et stærkt bånd. Men under overfladen og langt væk fra wrestling-ringen lurer både uforløste drømme, utilstrækkelighed og stor smerte. Familien Von Erich er med tiden blevet kaldt for wrestling-verdens svar på Kennedy-familien pga. de mange bemærkelsesværdige succeser og hjerteskærende tragedier.
