Danny Fenton var engang den typiske dreng, indtil han ved et uheld sprængte sine forældres laboratorium i luften og blev til spøgelsesjæger-superhelten Danny Phantom. Nu halvt spøgelse har Danny fået paranormale kræfter, men kun hans søster, Jazz, og hans bedste venner, Samantha og Tucker, kender hans hemmelighed. Danny er travlt optaget af at bekæmpe spøgelser, redde Casper High og skjule sin nye identitet, alt imens han prøver at blive student.
