Efter at have givet en berømt kurator et slag i ansigtet for at kritisere hans arbejde som "lærebogsagtigt og livløst," bliver Handa Seishuu sendt til Gotō-øen for at berolige sine nerver og finde ny inspiration til sin kalligrafi.
