Ein Finne reist nach dem Tod seiner Frau mit seinen beiden Töchtern nach Brasilien. Dort schlägt er sich zunächst mit Gelegenheitsjobs durch, bevor er sein Glück als Diamantenschürfer versucht. Nach einem Unfall und nachdem er von Indianern gesundgepflegt wurde, packt ihn das ökologische Gewissen: Er setzt sich gegen den Raubbau an der Natur ein. Ein Abenteuerfilm voller dramaturgischer Sprünge, der durch seinen Off-Kommentar einen unangemessenen Männlichkeitsmythos feiert. Fahrig inszeniert und trotz der löblichen Absicht nicht mehr als ein Lippenbekenntnis in Sachen Umweltzerstörung.
