In einem grauen, entsetzlich trostlosen Studentenwohnheim teilen die beiden Freundinnen Otilia und Gabita ihr kärgliches Zimmer. Als Gabita ungewollt schwanger wird, steht sie vor einem Problem, aus dem es scheinbar keinen Ausweg gibt, denn Abtreibungen stehen unter strenger Strafe. Doch gemeinsam mit ihrer Freundin lehnt Gabita sich gegen das unerbittliche Regime auf. Sie leihen sich Geld und machen einen Abtreibungsarzt ausfindig. Allerdings erweist sich Bebe als echtes Problem, denn als er feststellt, das Gabitas Schwangerschaft schon viel weiter fortgeschritten ist als zunächst angenommen, demütigt er die beiden jungen Frauen und fordert nicht nur mehr Geld sondern auch Sex als Belohnung seiner Dienste. Es beginnt eine quälende und erniedrigende Tortur und die beiden Frauen schlittern in ein heilloses Fiasko …
