Ein Lehrer wird auf Grund eines Computerfehlers vom italienischen Norden in ein Bergnest im Süden versetzt, wo die Mafia das Geschehen bestimmt. Kaum ein Schüler kommt zum Unterricht, weil die meisten von ihnen arbeiten müssen. Der Lehrer setzt sich schließlich mit seinen Bemühungen um Anerkennung durch, macht sich zugleich aber einen der Schüler zum Feind.
