Επαρχιακή Ιταλία. Από τον τίτλο «Μις Μαμά» στα επαρχιακά καλλιστεία του 1971, η Άννα έχει ξεκινήσει μια πορεία που θα γεμίσει τραύματα τα δυο νεαρά παιδιά της. Ο γιος της Μπρούνο, 45άρης πια, που έχει κόψει όλους τους δεσμούς με την οικογένειά του, επιστρέφει για να συμπαρασταθεί στην άρρωστη μητέρα του και αντιμέτωπος με το παρελθόν του παίρνει ένα τελευταίο μάθημα ζωής από τη μητέρα του για τη διατήρηση της πίστης στα μικρά πράγματα που ομορφαίνουν τη ζωή.
