Παρίσι, στο κοντινό μέλλον. Οι γηραιοί κλέφτες Μαρκ και Χανς χρωστάν χρήματα σε μια σκληρή Αμερικάνα που τους δίνει δύο βδομάδες διορία. Αυτοί σκοπεύουν να κλέψουν και να πουλήσουν έναν νέο ορό που σκοτώνει εραστές, αλλά χρειάζονται κάποιον με γρήγορα και σταθερά χέρια. Έτσι βρίσκουν τον Άλεξ, έναν νεαρό που έχει χάσει την εμπιστοσύνη του στην αγάπη, καθώς χώρισε με τη 16χονη φίλη του, Λιζ. Λίγες ημέρες πριν τη ληστεία, ο Άλεξ ξεκινάει σχέση με την Άννα, τη νεαρή ερωμένη του Μαρκ. Την ημέρα, δε, της ληστείας, η Λιζ καταφτάνει στο Παρίσι για μια τελευταία προσπάθεια.
