Cuando era una niña, Sheena (Gena Lee Nolin) perdió a sus padres y fue criada por el "Kaya", el último superviviente de una tribu, quien tenía el don de metamorfosearse en diferentes animales salvajes. El brujo transmite su sabiduría a la niña Sheena, que la utilizará para convertirse en distintos animales y recorrer la jungla, combatiendo a sus enemigos.
