مقامات کرهای در حین بررسی یک تهدید تروریستی که در فضابی مجازی فراگیر میشود، متوجه میشوند که یک مظنون اخیرا سوار یک پرواز بینالمللی به مقصد ایالات متحده شده است. وقتی که یک مسافر سالم در همان پرواز ناگهان به علت نامعلومی با مرگ دلخراشی میمیرد، وحشت هم در حین پرواز و هم روی زمین بالا میگیرد. با کاهش تدریجی سوخت و امتناع بین المللی از ارائه کمک، کاپیتان و خدمه مجبور خواهند شد تا اقدامات اضطراری بی سابقهای را برای نجات جان مسافران خود انجام دهند.
