داستان حول محور شو اوما، پسری دبیرستانی می چرخد که به طور ناخواسته توانایی ای به نام «قدرت پادشاهان» به دست می آورد که به او امکان می دهد اشیایی به نام «خلأ» را از دیگران بیرون بکشد. سپس او وارد درگیری با گروه مقاومتی به نام Funeral Parlor می شود که هدفش بازگرداندن استقلال ژاپن از سازمان شبه دولتی به نام ستاد کل است. در این مسیر، شو باید با باری که توانایی اش بر دوشش گذاشته و راز وحشتناک گذشته اش روبرو شود.
