Lapsena Tommy Jarvis onnistui siinä, minkä yrittäminen vei monelta hengen. Hän onnistui tappamaan Jason Vorheesin, Crystal Laken asukkaita terrorisoineen massamurhaajan. Nyt vuosia myöhemmin Tommya piinaa ajatus, että Jason ei ehkä sittenkään ole kuollut. Tommy ja hänen ystävänsä menevät hautausmaalle ja kaivavat Jasonin haudan auki.
