Late on älykäs pieni lammas, joka asuu katraansa kanssa Sammalperän maatilalla. Maatilan omistaa likinäköinen Maajussi ja sitä vahtii kontrolli-intoinen, mutta hyvää tarkoittava Vuhku Vahtikoira. Elämä Sammalperässä on yleisesti ottaen mukavaa, mutta eräänä päivänä Late havahtuu ja tuntee elävänsä kuin orja. Late alkaa suunnitella vapaapäivää, ja suunnitelmaan kuuluu Maajussin saaminen unten maille. Suunnitelma toimii liiankin hyvin ja pian alkaa tapahtua. Yksi asia johtaa toiseen ja pian koko katras löytää itsensä ensimmäistä kertaa farmin ulkopuolelta – isosta kaupungista. Mutta miten lampaat pärjäävät suurkaupungissa?
