Elämä hymyilee Charley Brewster -nimiselle collegepojalle. Hän hengailee makeiden tyyppien parissa, seurustelee koulun söpöimmän tytön kanssa eikä enää kaipaa nörttikaverinsa Edin seuraa. Mutta ongelmat alkavat, kun Charley saa uuden naapurin, Jerryn. Mies vaikuttaa ensin hauskalta ja hurmaavalta, mutta kaikki ei ole ihan kohdallaan.
