Muutama vuosi vanhempiensa eron jälkeen 17-vuotias Nicholas ei enää pysty asumaan äitinsä Katen kanssa. Hän muuttaa asumaan isänsä Peterin ja tämän uuden kumppanin Bethin luokse.
