שנים אל תוך העתיד, המין האנושי הובס מספר פעמים על ידי הכוח החדש השולט בכדור הארץ. שליט זה הוא גודזילה, מלך המפלצות. האנושות בתבוסתה, מתכננת לעזוב את כדור הארץ. מס' אנשים נבחרים לבחון כוכב לכת חדש כדי לראות אם הוא מתאים למגורים. כשהם מבינים שכוכב לכת זה אינו מתאים הם מתכוננים לתוכנית ב': להביס את גודזילה ולתבוע בחזרה את הכוכב שלהם.
