Većina šmokljana, članova bratovštine 'Lambda Lambda Lambda', predvođenih Lewisom Skolnickom (Robert Carradine), odlazi u Fort Lauderdale na Floridi, gdje se održava godišnje okupljanje fakultetskih bratovština. Šmokljani su i dalje smotani, bez smisla za odijevanje i društvenih manira, ali sve to kompenziraju inteligencijom i simpatičnošću. Naravno, na Floridu odlaze i njihovi najveći suparnici, članovi snobovske bratovštine 'Alpha Beta' koji nisu zaboravili poniženja iz prošlosti i odlučuju se osvetiti šmokljanima otkazujući njihovu hotelsku rezervaciju. Da bi stvar bila gora, ekipa iz 'Alpha Bete' pokušat će izbaciti šmokljane iz nacionalne udruge bratovština.
