Pjevačke pop senzacije Alvin, Simon i Theodore odlaze živjeti kod Daveovog bratića Tobyja i ubrzo shvate da je obrazovanje važnije od pojavljivanja u medijima. Međutim, glazbenom programu u školi prijeti ukidanje, a spasiti ga mogu jedino Alvin, Simon i Theodore ukoliko na natjecanju “Bitka bendova” pobjedom osvoje 25.000 dolara. Iako su Alvin i vjeverice sigurne da mogu napisati pobjedničku pjesmu, novo oformljeni trio glazbenih vjeverica, koji čine Brittany, Eleanor i Jeanette, pokazat će se kao ravnopravne suparnice.
