Nakon prekida s nevjernim zaručnikom, mlada žena traži cimericu kako bi podijelila troškove svog prostranog stana u New Yorku. Na oglas se javlja povučena i naizgled savršena djevojka, koja se brzo useljava i postaje joj bliska prijateljica. Međutim, s vremenom se otkriva da nova cimerica ima opsesivnu narav i želi preuzeti njezin identitet, život i zaručnika. Počinje niz uznemirujućih događaja, a granica između prijateljstva i opsesije postaje sve tanja. Uskoro se pretvara u borbu za goli život.
