Randy Daytona (D. Fogler) još je kao dječak bio najveća nada američkog stolnog tenisa i glavni favorit na olimpijskim igrama. Za vrijeme odlučujućeg meča kineski mafijaš Feng (C. Walken) ubio je njegovog oca, inače odlikovanog ratnog veterana i okorjelog kockara. Shrvani Daytona izgubio je meč i prerano završio karijeru. Devetnaest godina poslije, ugodno popunjenom i zapuštenom Randyju, sada članu putujućeg showa, priđe FBI agent Rodriguez (G. Lopez) i pozove ga da se pridruži vladinoj misiji hvatanja Fenga, inače velikog obožavatelja ping-ponga. Plan je da Daytona pristupi Fengovom tajnom turniru i ondje sakupi inkriminirajuće dokaze protiv mafijaša. Kako je Daytonin talent znatno zahrđao tijekom godina, najprije će se morati vratiti u formu uz pomoć slijepog učitelja Wonga (J. Hong) i njegove zgodne nećakinje Maggie (Maggie Q).
