Fuguain egyszerű, tisztességes francia állampolgár. Ez abból is látszik, hogy amikor hullát talál a háza előtt, bejelenti a hatóságoknak. A rendőrségen a gyanakvó Buron kapitány faggatja a történtekről. A vég nélküli kihallgatás miatt Fuguain már fáradt, éhes és rosszul érzi magát az ablaktalan helyiségben. Ráadásul, amikor egyedül marad egy paranoiás helyettessel, az szürreális, ugyanakkor vicces módon meghal. Szerencsétlen Fuguainnek így már nem egy, hanem két holttestről kell számot adnia.
