A stand-up comedy klasszikus előadóinak legszebb hagyományait folytató Louis szarkasztikus humora, sajátos látásmódja és szókimondó stílusa rendkívül kedvelt Amerikában. A színpadon számára senki és semmi sem szent, a jeleneteket összekötő monológokban nincs tabu: beszél a gyermekeiről, mániáiról, érzéseiről, és bármiről, ami idegesíti. Ilyesmiből pedig elég sok van.
Louis CK eredeti neve Székely Lajos (bizony, részben magyar származású!), akinek elege lett abból, hogy senki nem tudja helyesen kiejteni a nevét, így inkább CK-re váltott. Elvált, korosodó, kétgyermekes, saját szavaival élve ?nem túl vonzó? New York-i komikus. Egymaga írja, vágja és rendezi egyedi, abszurd, és többnyire igen merész sorozatát.
