Yun királynőt királyi parancsra méreg általi halálra ítélik. Az ítéletet végrehajtó katonák egyike, Seo Cheon-soo hazafelé indul, ám az úton baleset éri. Egy titokzatos öreg remete siet segítségére, aki különös jóslattal ajándékozza meg: sorsát három nő fogja meghatározni. Az elsőnek a halálát okozza, a másodikat megmenti, de miatta vész el, a harmadik pedig a vesztét okozza, de ezáltal sokakat megment. A katona sokat töpreng a jóslaton, míg egy napon egy haldokló nőt talál a patak mentén. Kiderül, hogy a gyönyörű lány a palota egyik udvarhölgye, akit megmérgeztek. Cheon-Soo azonban épp időben érkezik.
