A csinos Amanda Brown rövid ismeretség után feleségül megy a híresen gazdag Cano-család egyik tagjához, az ügyvéd Humbertohoz. Ám a történet közel sem ilyen mesébe illően idilli... Amanda célja ugyanis nem más, minthogy bosszút álljon a családon első férje, Willy haláláért! Willy Delgado két éve még boldogan élt feleségével, Santával és kisfiukkal. Willy zenetanárként dolgozott a Cano-családnál. Miután visszautasította Bárbara, Humberto testvérének közeledesét, Bárbara a lánya, Daniela segítségével bosszúból börtönbe juttatta Willyt. Humberto parancsára később Willyt a börtönben meggyilkolták. Santa ekkor elhatározta, hogy Paulának, Willy testvérének segítségével valamennyi Cano-n bosszút áll Willy haláláért...
