Joe Berlinger rendezése Stephen G. Michaud és Hugh Aynesworth azonos című könyvén alapul, a két újságíró 100 órányi interjún rágta át magát, amikből fény derül Bundy nézőpontjára, és persze beszél életéről és motivációiról is.
