Egy orvvadász banda éppen a gigantikus méretű hajójával vadászik egy bálnára, amikor egy csapatnyi Greenpeace aktivista gumicsónakkal akarja megakadályozni a szörnyű vérengzést. Ebben a pillanatban azonban felrobban a hajó, kettétörik és elsüllyed. Egy fiatal újságírónak azonnal szöget üt a fejében az ügy, mivel rájön, hogy az eset éppen a Bermuda-háromszög környékén történt. Eközben egy nagy hajótársaság elnöke négy szakértőt keres fel, hasonló ügyek felderítésére, ugyanis szállítmányozó hajói közül immár hat tűnt el. Eddig csak egy hajó bukkant fel közülük, ám azon a csodával határos módon heten maradtak életben. A különféle emberekből álló kutatócsoport elindul hát, hogy megfejtse a lehetetlent, azt, amit még soha senkinek nem sikerült: a Bermuda-háromszög titkát.
